Megan Denk, Executive Director, THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health

Megan Denk is the Executive Director of THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Under her leadership, THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health is committed to enhancing the health, wellness and quality of life of families throughout Northeast Florida by extending the reach of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Created to help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations, THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health focuses on prevention, health and wellness, access and community education. Megan led the Community Asthma Partnership’s development of a high risk care coordination model, reducing asthma related admissions at Wolfson Children’s Hospital by 30% in four years.

In her role, Megan is responsible for providing strategic direction on population health efforts. She leads the Community Health Needs Assessment and implementation plan development for Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Megan also represents Wolfson Children’s in government affairs through the Florida Association of Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Association. She was actively involved in the advocating for ACE Kids, critical legislation for children with medical complexities, which was signed by the President in 2019.

In addition to THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health, Megan is responsible for Child Life, school based health and integrative care at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and the Women’s Resource Center at Baptist Health.

Megan is actively involved in the community serving as Board Chair for the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition, Chair of the Duval County Public Schools School Health Advisory Council, and Secretary of Wilkinson Junior High School Community Partnership School.

Megan was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as a 40 under 40 in 2018. She received the 2019 Phillip Gilbert Award for Outstanding Community Service from the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition, and was recognized as the 2019 honoree of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid/Northeast Florida Medical Legal Partnership Bridges to Justice for Children’s Health award.

Megan represents Wolfson Children’s Hospital on the Baptist Health Social Responsibility Board, serves on the Baptist Health United Way System Cabinet and is a graduate of the Baptist Health Emerging Leaders program.

Megan received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Florida. She and her husband, Ed, have two young children, Bailey and Beckett.
